Sheila Stephens

Sheila Stephens is a Senior Adult Home Specialist with Wake County Senior and Adult Services, where she has served for more than 20 years. For 10 of those years, she also served as a Senior Practitioner, monitoring Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse Services (MH/DD/SAS).

Sheila is the statewide Chair of the North Carolina Adult Care Association, a role she has held for the past five years. In this capacity, she advocates for the needs, rights, and quality of care for individuals residing in Adult Care Homes across North Carolina.

In addition to her regulatory and advocacy work, Sheila has an extensive training background. She is a Certified CPR and First Aid Instructor, a Crisis De-escalation Instructor trained in EBPI, and a certified Stop the Bleed instructor through the American College of Surgeons.

She currently serves as the Senior Adult Home Specialist with Wake County Senior and Adult Services, bringing decades of leadership, expertise, and commitment to protecting vulnerable adults.
